Holidays in Opryland

Wife and Kids at Opry Land.jpg

We had a great Christmas with the family this year.  One of the gifts to the kids was to take them to Opryland and Nashville.  We stayed at the Opryland Hotel which was an awesome place.  The only thing I would recommend would be to bring your own water and snacks because a water costs about $25 there!  We took the kids to see The Grinch which the wife and I actually enjoyed too.  All in all it was a great holiday with the family.  Mixed in a little bit of fishing in December and that topped it off.

I went on a little tear early on in December and finished second and fourth in some big local tournaments.  I caught a five pound ten ounce spotted bass that took big bass at Lake Mitchell.  The weather was abnormally warm with the water getting up into the sixties.  It probably had those fish thinking it was time to spawn already.  My last tournament scheduled for 2015 was a spot only event at Lake Mitchell.  I had a career first there, because of all the rain it was flooded out and they had to cancel it.

The last couple weeks I have been getting ready to kick the tournament season off at Lake Toho for the first Bassmaster Southern Open followed by Okeechobee for the first FLW Tour event.  I thought it was a little weird that I had not yet received an email confirmation for the Toho event so I called BASS.  I asked about not being confirmed and mentioned that I had priority entry from the past season as well.  Unfortunately, he said that there was a special registration date for those with priority entry that I wasn’t aware of; the information was probably mailed to our old house.  It looks like I won’t be fishing the Southern Opens this year, but the Tour is still on track.  It’s unfortunate how it happened, but I’m turning my focus toward the FLW Tour season and turning my season around from 2015.
